The Holy Father decided that 2025 will be a year of Jubilee, something which happens every 25 years.
The theme is "Pilgrims of Hope", and is a year of hope for a world suffering the impacts of war,
the ongoing effects of COVID-19 pandemic, and a climate crisis.
Preparations for the 2025 Year of Jubilee began in Advent 2023, which marked the start of a year of prayer.
On Sunday, 29 December 2024, Bishop Mark celebrated Holy Mass in Shrewsbury Cathedral to mark the solemn opening of the Jubilee Year for our Diocese.
The Cathedral and St Joseph's Eucharistic Shrine in Stockport have been designated as Jubilee places of pilgrimage for our Diocese.
The launch event for St Joseph's took place on the 9th of January 2025.
The Jubilee will conclude with the closing of the Holy Door in St Peter's Basillica on the 6th of January 2026,
the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord.
There is a booklet to accompany your pilgrimage to St Joseph's which can be downloaded here or by clicking on the picture above

every day in St Joseph's, which along with the Cathedral is the pilgrim church for our diocese. (It is actually
possible to receive it twice in one day.)
Here is how:
